Lawn looks good. Already vacuumed the pool this morning. Shocked it too. It will be in good condition this afternoon.

Does anyone seriously still go 'oh my god, this is so totally for real!' on receiving mail like this?

Yes otherwise they wouldn't keep sending them.

Old people who aren't very internet savvy are very vulnerable. Old people are also more vulnerable to the fake prize draws that come through the post. Not to say they are the only group who are vulnerable plenty of younger people, people with learning disabilities or very very trusting people get caught out too but from everything I've seen on the news, it's the older people who make up the biggest percentage.

And of course if you respond to any of it, you get put on a suckers list and get MORE emails/letters sent to you.

You hear some harrowing stories about people who lose everything replying to the scammers. And they just can't stop because what if the next email or letter is real?

I remember while working at the bank a customer wanted to open an account and she had said she had won the Irish lottery and the winnings were going to be wired into her account. So, with much trepidation and I tried to tell her that it was a scam and she would call everyday to see if they monies were deposited...everyday she would call...after two months of waiting she gave up..thankfully she never sent money, but the false hopes drove her and I batty....

Ask them for their account details because for security reasons you need to let your bank know this before they will allow payment from a strange account.:D
