What part of your childhood brings back your fondest memories? If you could re-live something you did as a child what would it be?

Going to the World Exposition with my mom. I was 11 and she didn't drive. We took the bus and went downtown and visited all the different pavillions, did it all summer, some of my fondest memories.

I won't lie and say that my childhood was all rainbows and unicorns, but there were some good memories. I remember we used to go to this place to swim and, in order to get to the river, you had to walk along this wall that was probably 50 feet tall. Then you had to jump a good 2 - 3 feet over a gap (while 50 feet up) and then scale down the wall. My dad would put me on his back and jump across. Thinking about it now it's really stupid b/c we could've easily fallen to our deaths, but we had some GREAT times at that place.

Also, my family was big into sports. My brother was a star football and baseball player (baseball more than anything...I wish he had stayed in school b/c he could have easily gone pro if he had stuck w/ it), my dad was a coach, my mom was a team mom, and I was a cheerleader. I loved those times.

And a random silly memory that is still one of my favorites to this day...my dad took my brothers camping/hunting and I stayed home w/ my mom. We had Dairy Queen Blizzards for dinner. I thought it was the greatest thing EVER, LOL

Even though looking back it was less than a great experience; going to Disney World when I was 8. And prob going to Abanaki Camp Ground every summer.

For me fishing with my frandfather was awesome. The family get togethers around summer holidays. We would make BBQ and camp stew and frying fish caught from the ponds.

I remember camping out was always a blast! we would go "roughing it" out at the ponds where we used to fish. we did the pup tents and the camp fire cooking etc. i loved doing that. I also had fun outside with the neighbors playing king because we had a bunch of logs in the front yard and one of them was taller than all the rest and had a piece of the log that stuck up in the back like a tall chair with a back!

I built a tree house in a huge willow tree when I was about 10 years old. Used to play and sleep out there all summer long. It lasted for almost 30 years till the house burned down and they cleared the lot. Remember camping across the whole country on a 3 week summer vacation in the mid 60's.

One of my favorite childhood memories is when I was a member of the Boy Scouts. We'd go out on camping trips here in rural Maine.

My favorite Boy Scout trip was when we canoed down a river five or six miles and we camped out at a site along the river. It was called The Old Wakefield Place.

I will always be grateful to the Boy Scout Troop leaders who made it all possible. The leaders were volunteers who took time out from their busy lives to make it all possible.
