Number 2. your sure yea

Lets just say, i know a bunch of sites that are just flooded with viruses and trojans. With a Windows pc, my computer got to the point it wouldn't even go past the boot screen. On linux, i visited such sites and no effect what so ever. And to even make sure, i downloaded an AntiVirus program for Linux, did a bunch of scans, and i come out clean.

So yes, i am sure...am i 100% sure...no cause there may be a very tiny chance there is a virus that could screw up a Linux kernel.

Have you ever heard the saying "Mac's have no viruses" ? Well a Mac is Linux...just all pretty and all.

Just going to quote that for the lulz

The reason why these sayings came about is because they are such unpopular OS's that viruses were never written for them for many years as the majority of the market use windows (not to mention the 'target' audience for such viruses)

But there are viruses for both linux and apple OS's, which is precisely the reason anti virus programs were written for them! They are just less common. Malware is mostly created to steal sensitive infomation, obviously microsoft owning the majority of the market (when fugures come into it pretty much all of it) then there is more of a hit rate than going to the trouble of programming for the sparse end of users.

It simply comes down to windows being the most used OS, if linux pawend the market like microsoft it would be the other way round.

Linux is more suseptable to damage than windows, aim for the kernal and linux is a gonna!

Well you are very right. Yes if linux was used like Windows then it probably would be getting owned with viruses etc too.
Well i still love the stability of Linux...and tend to use it :) :p
