I used to subscribe to a bunch of magazines like The Blood-Horse (thoroughbred racing), The Hockey News, National Geographic and Readers Digest. The Blood-Horse was expensive, especially after I moved back to Canada, and since I was getting a daily racing newsletter emailed to me anyway I cancelled that one. I cancelled The Hockey News because I found myself reading it less and less as I found I could get most of that information on the internet. I'm currently subscribing to just one magazine, Just About Horses. It's a model horse magazine put out by Breyer and they often have exclusive limited edition models that only subscribers can buy. :D

Currently I subscribe to:

Family Circle
Woman's Day
Ladies Home Journal (It was free with Woman's Day)

I mix it up yearly though while trying to win Publishers Clearing House contests. :D

I know I know.... It says a purchase won't help your chances.... but hell..... how do we really know what goes on behind closed business doors, eh? ;) I'm not taking any chances!

I just ordered a subscription to Memoir magazine
it's about memoirs, of course
and tips on writing them
and contests, etc.
it's $12 an issue!

I'm not in the habit of buying myself things, so this is really exciting! :)

Metal Hammer
Kerrang (only when a band I like are in it)
Cosmopolitan

And when I was pregnant I got a ton of pregnancy/new baby magazines. Mainly for the free gifts and partly becuase I was freaked out at becoming a mother and so I read them all page to page. Even the crap about maternity fashion and "how to name your baby like a celebrity"

Dont read any regularly but when I do its either Hammers News, Nuts, Maxim, FHM or something like that.

By the way, why are the magazines in doctors rooms unfairly biased toward women, old people and Jehovahs Witnesses? Men get ill too. The only magazines they seem to have are womens and celebrity gossip, Peoples Friend and the Watchtower? The Watchtower one I find the most bizarre. Jehovahs Witnesses are a tiny minority religion so why do doctors cater more for them than men who make up about half of the population?

My doctor's has no magazines apart from outside the part of the building upstairs they use for children's injections and then the magazines were one about horses, a dog breeders magazine and a farming magazine.

My doctors office and hospital is are Christian places. There is nothing about other religions like Jahovahs Witnesses laying around. But I know they definitely have a fair share of both magazines for women and men. It just depends on what area you are in of each. If you are in the womens health ward or post delivery area...be sure you will find mainly womens stuff haha.

This is the first time I have had a magazine subscription in forever! I got a certificate for a free one when I went to this thing at the mall. It was slim pickings, but I went for Glamour magazine. I just got it in the mail yesterday and it is alright, other than half of the magazine is ads. That was slightly disappointing.
