What is Wrong With Politics in the U.S.

You do understand that the taliban had full control over Afghanistan correct..you are aware the the taliban is a widely recognized terrorist group?
Iraq....saddam ...nuf said
I would also like to point out that they are back to sharia law with our help...so how can you be against this?...we went in a did some house cleaning to restore the order of the country

The Turks, the russians, the Brits, the soviets, the Taliban and now the coalition.

Nothing has changed, just the flags of the oppressors.

I'll happily concede that after the invasion, many Iraqis understood the fragility of the country and the necessity for an occupying force. But beforehand? I'm not so sure.
Who knows....what the percentage was...but none the less if other countries go in and invade yours and you feel good about it..your country has serious problems to begin with

If I am against it, it is because I don't believe it is possible.

I find your leap to another conclusion brash and grossly blinkered.

You do understand the people want us there and do not want to be under terrorist control.
Do you propose we let terrorists grow unchecked as they have in the past?
There is no giant leap to conclusions....how can one not be in support of taking out the terrorists......whether one thinks its possible to take them out is another issue

The turks russians and soviets are not terrorists.
The taliban had full control of Afghanistan and are terrorists.

You saw Charlie Wilson's War? Keep in mind the U.S. was perfectly happy to throw in with the Afgans when it served our geopolitical aspirations. We were there, and then we left, now we are back. Although my understanding is that the organization Taliban did not exist until after the Afgan Civil War (approx 1990), the Russians would have surely described the Afgans fighting them as terrorists. Just remember one persons terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.

The Iraqi's weren't happy about it, not at all. But, once Saddam was gone, and the country was descending into chaos, many saw the need for the occupation. That doesn't in anyway justify the invasion tho, I'm sure the majority of Iraqis would rather not need the US/UK forces in their neighbourhoods.
