What is the purpose of life?

I've always been troubled by this question. I believe in God, but I always wonder why did God create us? What's the point? We're all going to die anyways.

(You should read Atlas Shrugged. You'll probably find a more comprehensive answer in there then the one I'm about to give.)
God may have created us; he may not have. There's an equal possibility for both. You just have to decide weather or not you believe he did. But weather or not you believe he did, I hod that the goal of our lives is to pursue our own happiness (rational happiness, the kind that stems from fufilment of your values and virtues, not gross self indulgence happiness).:)

I was created to love and serve God. He is my creator. I belong to Him. God, knowing every hair on my head, knows everything about me and reveals my purpose to me. I am to fulfill that purpose. What I do in life echoes in eternity. There is no death.

You're really open-minded...like when someone dies, we usually think that he/she is gone forever, we don''t see the concept that only our physical body is dead, yet our soul lives on...I feel really weird right now, you've just made me realize that I will live forever.:willy_nilly:

Out of curiosity, what do you believe God's purpose for you is?
I have daily purposes which are constantly different - they are revealed to me throughout the day.

This may be a stretch for some to grasp, but when one has a true love relationship with God, they can see where He is working so to speak. As a believer, I am called to come along aside where I see the Lord working and be available for Him to use me ... for Him to work through me.

Some of my purposes are shared all believers as they have the same purposes as well and others are specific to the spiritual gifts the Lord has blessed me which are Godly Wisdom, Discernment, Knowledge, Leadership, and Teaching.

Just curious, but this sounds like predetermined tasks laid out for you by god?

There is no one purpose to life, just subjective ones implemented by us to give our lives meaning.
man oh man oh MAN is that some solid thinking!

Having said that, I think the puprose of life is to leave more love in the world than you found.
