In Buddhist traditions, and also in Hinduism, meditation is a path to enlightenment, it is said to liberate human soul. In the West, medication is basically a tool for mental well-being. There have been studies that have established the meditation boosts mental strength. Are these approaches fundamentally different? Can meditation exist without religious or philosophical context? Should it be viewed as a spiritual discipline or a scientific tool for psychological health?

Meditation can be both a path to enlightenment and a tool for mental well-being, depending on intent. Some practice it for spiritual awakening, seeking deeper self-awareness and transcendence. Others use it to reduce stress, improve focus, and regulate emotions. I see it as flexible, whether for peace or enlightenment, it offers profound benefits.
