I would simply spend my time playing games and watching movies. I actually have done exactly that for two days straight when I had to stay up for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. So I know I would be able to do it. I would be like a walking zombie, but I could function without slerp.

No, really, I'm serious! What if you didn't have to sleep? What would you do with all that extra free time? Would you get a second job? Would you start an insomniac street-dance crew? Maybe you'd just stalk your ex-girlfriend on her Facebook page all night (there's never enough time for that).

I think I'd probably use that free time to catch up on my back logged reading. It sounds lame, but I have so many books I've intended to read, for like, years now.

I honestly think about this EVERY DAY. Like you, I love spending hours reading. Or watching movies. I don't think it's lame at all. Books are nourishing and relaxing in my opinion. I'd also take the time to learn how to be a better cook!

Taking into consideration I can't do half of what I want throughout the day, if I didn't have to sleep I believe I still wouldn't do everything I want!!!
Maybe sometimes I would get bored, but I think I would find things to do in that time. I actually would like it!

Interesting thread:)

I never thought about surviving without sleep. Let's see! If there were no sleep what would I do with the free extra 8 or so hours?! I think I would find extra curricular activities like, working out more, reading and writing for longer periods of time, my vacations would be longer and arrival would be faster because I would have no reason to stop for sleep. There is none.:)

Considering how it feels like there are never enough hours in the day to get everything I need to do done the idea of never sleeping sounds great. I'd take tons of online classes, find a second job working a few nights a week, read all of the books on my shelf that I haven't gotten to yet, and I'd even be able to actually finish a video game for once. It would be glorious.

There would be some downsides though. I'd miss dreaming. I'd end up eating/drinking/smoking way more. I imagine it would get lonely at times too. Just knowing every single person you know is asleep or at work wishing they were asleep if you felt the need to socialize would be unsettling.

Oh man. I don't even want to think about it. I LOVE sleep.

If I didn't have to sleep, I would like to think I would be putting in the extra hours to be the best math teacher in the world. In reality though I would probably just goof off and spend the time watching tv, shopping, or reading.

A girl after my own heart, Miss Potato! Think of all the new things you could learn with 8 more hours to your day! Maybe I could finally try to take a stab at learning Mandarin. :D

Life would be better. I'd be able to learn more, and at an earlier age than I would have otherwise. I would get more things done. And I wouldn't be late for as many classes.

Actually I am a morning person and I really cannot sleep early or the normal sleeping pattern. What usually I do is I keep myself busy reading, writing or surfing the internet until I becomes sleepy. :)

I cannot imagine life without the beauty of sleep. It's such a refreshing and replenishing feeling to rise from slumber in the mornings after a previous day's chaos. Sleep in itself seems to be therapy...but say that humanity didn't know such a thing as sleeping (I should try to imagine), then my routine would still be the norm; only, it would be extended.
I would defintely get more time to study for my exams, to read my favorite novels and watch my favorite TV series, to spend time with family and loved ones, and many more.
I wonder how it would be. If we all would be cooped up in our houses by nightfall to avoid the night incidents of violence and crime, or we would be roaming the streets and beholding scary sights.

If I did not sleep, I would have a lot of free time on my hands. I would probably pick up another job just to have something to do to pass the time. It would also give me extra time to work on homework (but even then I would probably procrastinate).

If I didn't have to sleep, my house would be spotless! I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old, so needless to say I get nothing done until they are sleeping. If I didn't have to sleep, that would be the perfect arrangement.

Oh, man, I think mothers like yourself would appreciate this new-found super ability the most. I can completely see where you're coming from with this statement.

I enjoy sleeping. I like going to bed every night and getting some rest. I think I would be bored if I didn't sleep. I would probably read more.

I would finally catch up with everything I always postpone for later when I have some free time such as exercising, reading, movies and surfing the net. It seems that I'm always too busy to do that and it makes me overworked and depressed. I suppose that I tire too quickly and after work I don't have stamina to do anything else but sleep.

But if we didn't need to sleep, then we wouldn't feel tired at all, because sleeping is basically a refreshment and replenishes our energy, not needing to sleep means we don't need them, so we can be energetic all day long.
But would that mean we wouldn't need physical therapy as well?
