What do you think of Bush's answer to this awesome question?

As funny as it was, I think he gave the right answer. If he said, private contractors should be held to the UCMJ, then she would have said, but they are not and why aren't they? He can't answer that question. Should he have to? I would have liked to hear the BS answer that either one of the Clintons would have came up with.

Oh, and this is not me protecting Bush because his time was over about 8 years ago, my point is, hasn't anyone of you ever been answered a question you knew the answer to, but knew that answer would just be crucified because of the content? I'm sure you have dodged questions in your day. That is all.

Having said that, Bush is 100% certified Angus stupid.

Hilary's answer would be: "I never supported this war, but I've always supported our troops"

Thats her answer to everything.

I think he should, since he's the one that got us into this mess and since he's the commander in chief. ANY president, regardless of their political ideology should have to answer to the people at all times.

I don't think it is. He's just dodging the question to save face. The entire purpose of the president is to represent the people and carry out their best interests, lying to our faces and not answering very important questions is neglecting this ultimate responsibility.

Oh, this I agree with 100%. I just think it is impossible for one person to know the answer to every problem/question.

C'mon, nobody knows every answer to every question.

AV, your take is right on - it was actually a good answer in that he didn't know the answer so he didn't bullshit his way around not knowing and come off looking like a Clinton.

And the 100% Angus stupid? Priceless, my man. :clap

I agree, its just that I get the feeling he knew the answer, he just didn't want to say it.

Oh he absolutely knew the answer. Thats was why I said, he knew by answering it that it would have opened up a can of worms. Its never right for anyone in politics to dodge anything though.

Naw, I think he was pretty much clueless.

What I would have done is say, "You know what, young lady? That is one of the best questions I have heard in a very very long time, better than questions I get from tenured and seasoned journalists in Washington. Here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to have one of my assistants get your contact information, and within the next 24 hours I am going to get you an answer that is befitting the quality of that question and personally call you with it. You've earned that. Well done."

I agree. But idk, I just think he doesn't care AT ALL about answering questions.

And if it was Clinton, he would have said, meet me in my office, I have some stains I want to make. :D

In surfing around YouTube after AEF's brilliant police brutality find, I ran across this and went :smiley24: :humm: :wtf:

YouTube - Bush on Blackwater USA

discuss...
There are so many facets to running a COUNTRY I can't even begin to imagine all that is involved much less know all the laws regulating everything.

His answer was honest. I respect someone humble enough to say I don't know, much more so than people that act like they know it all and don't. But that is another thing the lies of society/media push forward. It is all about knowing it all and saving face in this country instead of being real.

Delegation.

I agree that it was better to give an honest answer than some flowery bullshit but that really was a question the president of the US should know the answer to! Very worrying!:eek
