Many teenagers clash with their parents because they tend to be overprotective and controlling, which makes the teenagers feel like they lack freedom. What do you think causes the clashes between some teenagers and their parents?

I think that is mainly a lack of trust. Parents do not trust their teens and teens do not trust their parents. parents try to reject all new things and teens reject all old things.

The parents think that they are experienced and know better, so they must be obeyed. On the other hand, the teenage kids feel like their parents are old fashioned and push forth outdated rules and principles. And so the clash begins 😄

It is always a battle of control between teenagers and parents. From childhood, those kids have always taken orders from their parents. Growing into teenagers, they become more self conscious and want to do their things by themselves. The parents don't want to renege control. And it leads to a battle between both sides. The teenage children win most of the times.

I think clashes between teenagers and their parents often come from differing expectations, desire for independence, and communication gaps. I’ve noticed that hormonal changes and peer influence also play a role, making conflicts more frequent during adolescence.

Parent-teen clashes usually arise from changes in responsibility and autonomy. Teens push limits as they learn independence, while parents try to enforce rules and guidance. Differences in priorities, communication styles, and emotional reactions often fuel these conflicts.
