What Do I Ask?

I've got this interview tomorrow, which I'm really hopeful about because it's working in a photography studio :) getting nervous now, etc etc.

The thing is, I know I need to make a list of possible questions to ask, because they always ask if you've got questions and seem disappointed if you say no. BUT the problem is, the last few interviews I've been to, they covered everything pertinent to the job before they got to the questions part, and the stuff they don't cover like holidays and whether you get sick pay seems rude to ask about - as if I'm only after the perks, when the truth is my mind just goes blank.

So does anyone have any good questions they've asked in interviews? I've already thought of asking about the career prospects, but I'm pretty certain they'll cover that. I did think of staff turnover though, and maybe asking the interviewer what they enjoy most about the company or something.

As for the interview ask questions you want to know the answer to lol

How long is your break?
whats the rate of pay?
will you be able to advance in the company if you work at it?
Will you be given the chance to show you are capable of more than they hire you for?

Stuff like that. Its hard to advise when Work is different over here then there (unless you are in australia) Good luck with it though hope it goes well! Kick ass!

What is your management style? (if the person interviewing is the one who will manage you)

What's the most important skill for this position? (gives you an opportunity to affirm you have said skill and leaves them with a positive/confident vibe from you)

What's the growth plan for the company within the next 5 years?

What's the best thing about working here?

Thanks for the ideas guys :) I've written some down on a notepad I'm taking with me, so I can go over them before I go in. Feeling quite nervous now but I feel a little more prepared knowing I've got some stuff ready!

I wish it were just an individual interview though. It starts off as a group one, and then you get a one-on-one if they like you. I've only ever had one group interview before and although it seemed to go well, they make me so nervous. It's almost like you have to impress a roomful of people rather than just one.

What you ask: "How long is your break?"
What they hear: "I won't have to work too hard, will I?"

What you ask: "Whats the rate of pay?"
What they hear: "I'm not sure you can afford me."

The other two seem to be OK. :p
 
I think a group interview could give you an advantage, especially if you're asking questions and no one else is.

I would try to do some research on the company/business so you can start questions with something you know (or "understand") and ask for elaboration.
