I am generally optimistic... when I visualize someone, unless I really... really hate their posting style. Then I almost get a downright insulting mental image of them. Of course by then I generally have already seen a picture of them, but my imagination overrides what i have seen.
I try not to do that. I think it was Kimmy that posted a thread about how people sound in real life from reading their posts, lol. I did that ONCE and I did the same about visualizing what the person looked like. In the end he looked and sounded NOTHING like I'd imagined. Total let down, lol.
I'm never too suprised, but I don't visualise posters that much.
Ooh that's true, it doesn't happen often but if I really don't like someone, my mental picture of them is far less appealing

I don't really expect or visualise anything - at least not anymore I don't.
When I first began posting way back when, AV's used to throw me off what gender the poster used to be, haha. Not anymore.:ninja:

I usually think of the persons avatar as well, I'm not a smurf though, I swear!
