we were on our way to Barcelona and it was supposed to be Boston to JFK to Barcelona, rainstorms in JFK made the connection a no go. Iberian told us to take the flight from Boston to Madrid. Go through a second round of security and run to another terminal to boot. fly overnight (7pm) to Madrid and then take a connector to Barcelona. The joys of travel....

indeed, it's a pig of a journey. Not to mention I'd have to spend a day getting to Madrid before I even left the country...

no only for long haul. the airports near me (Málaga & Gibraltar) are for short-haul flights only. They only cover most of Europe and some of northern Africa and the Middle East.
