We smoked our turkey - came out delicious!!! I've seen some idiots fry turkey (not to imply that Darrell is an idiot) - and the assfuck just about burned his garage down. Apparently, no one told him to DEFROST the turkey before dropping it into the hot oil... holy shit, Batman!!

Well, it WAS in Eastern NC. And this particular neighbour was going through a really shitty divorce. And his wife HAD left him, with all four kids right before Thanksgiving. So, he invited every other redneck idiot he knew (all were single for the holidays - imagine THAT), bought cases of bad beer, and were drunk before noon (not that I look down on that - but when using LITRES of hot oil to FRY something attached to a VERY LARGE propane tank?? Not good) and not one had a clue as to what they were doing.

We drank our apertifs out on the front porch and watched the drama unfold...

The only people I felt sorry for??? The fire department - they had to deal with a huge oil fire (with a turkey in the centre of it) and the idiots with singed faces, blank looks, and ignorance of cooking.

And people actually ask me if I miss living in the United States...

We usually have at least 1 structure fire caused by this every Christmas and/or Thanksgiving. It's more common than you would think. I almost posted about it in Darrell's thread, but I know he's smarter than that, LOL
