this is pretty much pigeon holing Americans. Are you trying to take Maz's place? The only thing correct about that is that I believe in the paranormal, ghosts and extra terrestrial entities.

El oh el.
I stated before, I don't really care about any except the first four points about science, that is pretty bad.
And you can try and try and try and turn it on me and ask for my own country's statistics, but I honestly don't care if Australia is better or worse, the whole world can do with a better education in science. I'm not paying out on anyone, American textbooks always talk about themselves, and that's where I got it from, why such a big deal because I post it?
Just have a laugh at the humour of it all.

Kimbo I don't find it surprising in the least. The majority of people probably don't have any real interest in science and the answers reflect that. I love science and have more trivia in my head than probably most people and didn't know some of the answers which would make me among the norm I would expect. For some of them the jury is still out.

I like certain aspects of science but even science doesn't have all the answers.

These are things that are well supported by science though. They have good evidence for them.
But you are right, there are things beyond the realm of science.

I find it funny how you post something just for an FYI or so you say, but then make it a point to specifically single out the two parts of the stupid statistic that make us in America look like we are dumb asses. And then you wonder why some people are defensive about it....

Why do you always question everything I do? Unlike some people, I don't have ulterior motives underneath wanting to cause trouble, stop trying to make me look like the bad guy. You think I'm bloody bad.

I surely hope that last post wasn't specifically directed at me, because if you read anything posted in this thread I wasn't the only one who made a comment stating what you posted was off in nature toward Americans.
You made this thread, and if you cant handle a comment that doesn't agree with you I suggest you stop making them. You're beginning to have a similar posting style as Dana in regard to if you post something. you feel everyone should agree with you or you get all defensive about it.

No, I like debating, I just don't like people accusing me of trying to stir shit when I'm not. Some found it interesting, thank god for open minds who aren't gullible to falling to preconceived conclusions, or don't engage in groupthink.
I hardly see how it is Dana-like then, accuse me (or someone else close to me) of something wrong, damn right I won't take it. I won't take bullshit, I'm sure Dana wouldn't either, along with the rest of the board.

And yes, it was directed at you, because you, specifically, always try to pull me up on my posts then try to brush it off. I don't know what's worse now...someone ALWAYS trying to make ME look bad, or me apparently making American people look bad, in one mere time I was just posting for interest.

I must admit, I didn't know electrons are smaller than atoms. But then I'll be the first to admit, Science (or Geography for that matter) isn't my forté.

There are people the world around who don't know it either too probably, in Oz too no doubt. It was just interesting for America because they often reject science, it's just interesting to see that some people believe in this stuff still. Not just in America too, even a third of Russians also believe the sun revolves around the Earth.

There are people who believe the earth is flat. People will believe what they want to at the end of the day and no amount of science or education is going to sway them.

I don't understand why people just 'don't understand' how it works =S
It's simple. They aren't interested so don't research or pay attention.

Kim I'm sure there are plenty of subjects you couldn't care about but that doesn't make you ignorant. Just because you like a subject doesn't men everyone else has too. Here's an example.... tell me exactly what happens when a car engine is experiencing pre-ignition. Don't Google it. ;)
