this is pathetic, this guy was given a second chance at life and is throwing it away. What are your views on giving an organ to an alcoholic whos going to destroy it again?Should there be a stiffer penalty for someone that does this? A child could have been given this opportunityfor life IMO.

I thought there were rules with that sort of thing? Like if you are waiting for a transplant they keep an eye on you to make sure you've stopped drinking or smoking or whatever BEFORE they give you the organ?

I can understand getting a second shot, but no one has the right to destroy two livers. Audra's completely right- someone else who would have appreciated it could have had a second chance.

Whoa... whoa... The minute a person starts thinking like that is the minute people start playing God. There should be stricter policies and a rehabilation period but you can not take back an organ just because he fell back off the horse...

Reminds me of all the shit when George Best got given a new liver. He did actually stop the drinking for about a year but he fell off the wagon because he was a serious alcoholic. What can you do though? You cant sentence people to death because they "might" fuck up again.

Drinking is a choice that people make, thats is totally in theie control. If they are given a second chance they should respect that opportunity

But Audraa, the chances are greater that your organs could end up saving someone's life. Disregarding your liver, your eyes, kidneys, lungs and heart could end up helping 7 people.
