To be fair, Lemon started it off by slating others, I just think that when things start getting a bit heated you should either ignore it or try to difuse it. To be fair, otheres tried to difuse the situation but Lemon seemed to have been so heated up he continued in an aggresive tone. I just hope he calms down and realises no-one has got it in for him.

You understand his reasons? The posts that you refer to are in the debate forum, that's what was going on, debate. When two or more people have strong opinions about a certain topic and they are battling them out in a debate, they are expected to try to put forth their opinions in such a way as to convince the other person that theirs is right. That's a debate. Take a minute or two and read through the posts again. There were no blatant personal attacks, just a heated debate that came real close to stepping over the edge. If you thought it was cutting him down and you accept his opinion on raising children, then why didn't you contribute to the thread? Besides flirting with james.
Actually, I was amazed that the parents of the board didn't have a word to say on the topic.

You don't walk into an ongoing debate and say this, "here's the thing - just fucking get over it. kids will read what kids want to read, whether or not you or the school board approves of such material. so get off the soap boxes and just shut up. your barking up a tree with no leaves on it." and not expect to be asked your view on it.

If you can't debate your opinions without getting upset, then stay out of the debate section and keep your opinions to yourself. or, you can get upset and create a farewell thread for the second time....

apparently, my dear Tim, you don't read very well. Because before I was "flirting with James" I had posted my opinion. Maybe you should re-read what was written before firing off another attack on someone else.

I did see that post, and it was a good one. I was refering to the later part of the conversation when debate turned topics.

I read all the posts, and never just skim through them, I read them.

after reading through that whole thread....I think a big glass of shut the fuck up lemon is needed because you don't know your head from asshole when it comes to kids...I pray that you never have children yourself...I was going to stay out of this completely but after reading some of the things you said I feel like I'm going to put out an opinion or 2...now I know I don't have all the answers but your answers are rediculous and sound like a cry for help...go talk to a shrink or something because you may have a few issues you need to work out...I think you're a head case...I think you do need help...now some people may or may not think I'm wrong for saying this or being to harsh but I wasn't in the whole harry potter arguement I was the third party looking at the whole picture...everyone was making valid points and he was just making harsh attacks at people...so don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out lemon....this post is not just about the harry potter thread....there has been several times where I've just kept my mouth shut and my opinions to myself about the things lemon had written about but because I'm a mod I try to keep the peace and not take sides in arguements....but I've been quiet long enough...

You're right, it wasn't just your thread. You have nothing to be sorry about. Sometimes people can take debate to personally. Though I disagree with lemons opinions, I don't hold that against him. I can disagree with someone on something and still respect them for having their own opinion. It just doesn't seem that way sometimes in the middle of a debate. I don't think he left because everyone agreed with his view, but who's to say.

let me tell you why i left - if tim actually read all the posts - he would have seen at the bottom of one of my later posts in that thread that i offered to agree that we disagree. i also recall entering in the cute little text box that i would leave it at i would raise my kids differently than tim. which i had hoped would just end it the feud. but i guess not, especially after some posts were made, i went all out on them.

i was hoping to stay away from otz for a bit. and i agree with you all now that i need to shut the fuck up in certain situations that i have no experiences in. hell, if i aint had sex, why should i be talking about raising kids? so, really, it isnt you all that is the reason i am leaving... the reason is because i need to build a life, get to know the real world, get some real life experience.

so with that, hopefully i will be back before spring semester at my college. which, incidentally, spring break starts the day after my birthday. see you then.
