Its a tough and sensitive one. Parents need to feel their children are protected but unfortunately these things lead to vigilante attacks and sex offenders fleeing so that even the authorities have no idea where they are to keep an eye on them. I really don't know what the answer is.

My room mate in college was always checking the local area and her hometown. The scary thing is, her hometown has a few thousand people and 70-ish people registered. That's a pretty high percentage.

i read it wrong.. its not my county, just a few surrounding towns.. but the are within a few blocks of my house

hmm only 12 non-mappables for me... so i guess that makes.. 47 total... what makes them non-mappable? i thought they had to give current addresses?

Yeah there's quite a few in my area. But keep in mind, sometimes guys get labeled as "offenders" for bogus reasons. Thats not saying the majority of them are though.

This website is not nearly as comprehensive as the one on the State of Hawaii website. IIRC, there are 8 sex offenders within a 1500 sq ft radius of my house.

there are 38 in my town and 24 more non mapable in my area...plsu theres another site (cant remember what just now) that lists what the offenses are...and 2 people in my aprt. complex alone that are child molesters...hence why im so eger to get out of here

Yep. At my first apartment there were 10 within a 1 mile radius.

The weird thing is, there were a few of them in meadowbrook that I remember delivering pizzas to.

If they're in new subdivisions, state/local maps haven't been updated yet to provide current online addressing? Either that or addresses haven't been plugged into the system yet.
