Yeah so you guys know about all my baby cravings I've been having..well...I got me a baby! We decided to take in my 3 year old neice today because her mom and grandma and her just got kicked out of their apartment...we can't take them all in but I couldn't have allie on the streets so we went and got her. She has had a lot of behavior issues in the past, mostly due to lack of consistant parenting, but since we picked her up she's been such a sweet angel. So chances are I won't be around nearly as much this week especially, I am playing full time mom right now and I'm pretty sure with her full time definitely means full time. She is a very active child and needs some hardcore discipline and round the clock supervision so she will pretty much be my life for the next...who knows how long...I am happy, I really think we made the best decision we could.

thanks guys...I am actually stunned at how good she has been so far...I think she really needed a change of environment, and she respects us because we treat her well. Hopefully we can keep her respect and stay consistant. So far so good but I know nothing about being a mom...the only things I am going on is what I remember about my parents that I liked or didn't like. It will definitely be a learning experience for me and matt. I will definitely post here if I have any questions!!! :D

thanks :) my biggest worry right now is Kodi. He is being a TOTAL brat since we brought her home...he is just plain jealous that he isn't getting all the attention and he is seriously pissing me off. He won't stop barking and making noise and just being a little shit. I have to put the baby gate up and leave him in our room at night, because we have to leave the door open for allie in case she needs anything. she is sleeping in the living room by herself because she has lice and I want to be able to hear her if she wakes up in the middle of the nigth or something. Yeah so kodi is in here with me making all kinds of noise. I will be so pissed if he wakes her up.

heheh. I'm actually pretty excited at trying my hand out at mommying. You know what is kind of sad and strange though? She is calling us mommy and daddy already...we told her not to but she keeps on...poor confused little child!

The dog will calm down, He is just use to being the baby, And he is probably very curious about her and wants to investigate her.

yeah..well her daddy met her for the first time last october when i took her to meet him up in dallas...i don't think she owns a thing that he has bought for her...and tomorrow he is going to jail for a year...usually she calls her grandmother mama...and her mom is more like an immature sister. I'm just glad she is away from the nasty cig smoke and all the bottles of prescription narcotics that they are constantly popping. I seriously think I will have issues giving her back to them...ugh it will just rip my heart out..she needs us because we are people who actually care about her wellbeing.

OH Im gonna ask now and i will check in the morning...whats the best, fastest way to get rid of head lice? I have the shampoo and the little comb but I wanna make sure they are DEAD...I would like her to sleep in our bed with us while she is getting adjusted, but I can't while she's got lice...also should i start using something on me before i even have it so they wont come camp out on my head?

Well Whatever she sleeps on make sure you clean well or it will just reinfest, and could infest you.

Is her hair short?? If not, Might as well cut it, it will help eliminate the spread of the eggs, otherwise, the shampoo and comb is the best you can do,

crap...no wonder they couldnt get rid of it. I've never had lice and never really been around it so i dont really know what im dealing with...everyone else told me though that they can't live off the head for more than a few hours..i guess thats not true huh. she hasn't really been on any furniture but the couch, i will find some way to clean it before i get on it i guess. One good thing is when i used the comb i didnt actually see any live ones...just the eggs...so hopefully thats all she has now, and i doubt they will hatch before we get a chance to treat her in the morning.

They can live for I think Like 24 hours.. but Im not Sure, All I remember is when my daughter had them, I fought it foreverrrrr.. but of course at the time her hair was sooo long that they would get in her shirt and waist line of her pants and then just keep reinfesting. I had to chop her hair off ( that made me cry)

oh man...mom and grandma would throw a FIT if we chopped her hair...but if we cant get rid of it...then we might have to. I am going to comb around her head in the morning again and see if i see any, there weren't that many nits tonight but then again i dont know if i did a thorough enough job after reading this website that was telling me it should take a lot longer than it took me. I will be pissed if i get lice and cant get my hair done for my wedding, and this is ridiculous, she's had lice for over 2 months now..

they had the shampoo but i think theyve only used it twice...i am reading about lice now and it says you cant keep treating them or the lice will become immune...im thinking about soaking her head in olive oil and going through with just the nit comb for a few hours tomorrow
