As long as you are marrying for the right reasons - marriage can be a great joy. I have been happily married for nearly 24 years & have no regrets.

I think that you need to give your marriage a lot of time in the first 5 years or so, after that it becomes easier to do other things while still spending time together.

Kids are a major part, we wanted two, but only had one. Whenever we have an anniversary, my wife & I don't try to get away from our daughter but involve her in the celebration - because marriage is about beginnings & we wanted to celebrate the beginning of our family.
