Had a women knock at my door yesterday, moaning to me about my Daughter playing too loudly outside. We live near a park :cool and taking into account she is playing with other children too.

After much moaning and me explaining it's kids being kids. I had enough, and I told her to shut the fuck up and jog along!

Do you think I could have handled it better?!

I wouldn't have told her to fuck off, but that's not language I tend to use unless with friends cos I dont like it when people swear at me. You may have got her back up now and she will continue to moan because of the way you handled the situation. I don't think she should be moaning to just you though since your daughter was playing with other kids and if she lives near a park then some noise should be expected. I would have thought she would have been glad it wasnt noise late on at night...

But she wound me up, as I was trying to explain it is a play area, and she shouldn't have moved here in the first place knowing that. In the end, she would not see reason. So I told her to shut the fuck up. I wouldn't to anyone, but she is well known for trash mouth anyway!

When dealing with these issues in a put on the spot way it is easy to say the wrong thing and think later......i am sure something was said to provoke the shut the fuck up comment but honestly i would have held back from being dragged down to their level.

Just remember there are many ways to tell someone to go away in a polite yet firm manner.....maybe next time use the term"go forth and multiply":24::24::24:....jokes aside just the next time you see them just polity say you have taken note of the noise concern and you will be monitoring it closely.

Diplomacy first...when that fails shut the door and have a nice cup of tea.:thumbup

Very good thinking, and I understand. But at the time a polite manner went out the window, and I do have abit of a temper, I admit.

I think I would have asked her what it was that she felt what it was that your daughter was doing that was so loud as compaired to the rest of the children that she felt the need to come over and confront you specifically. I would have reminded her that they are kids like you did also but keep in mind maybe like in Fuzz's situation she was woken up by the children and just wasnt in the best mood because of it wether right or wrong. Does she work nights? Was your daughter screaming and she thought something was wrong and it scared the shit out of her? Most normal people dont act like that especially if they are near a park. I think telling her to move the fuck along may have aggrevated the situation worse rather then trying to find a solution to stop her ranting

No, My daughter was playing the same with 3 other girls. Maybe she got it in for me lol
She obviously isn't normal. This was why I got angry with her for singling us out and coming to my door. But I agree that saying what I did wasn't the right choice of words. When you are angry, you say and do things you know you shouldn't. Like me in certain posts. But well women tend to rev up more I think! :/
