Some people are forced to live with physical and/or emotional disabilities which can prevent them from enjoying gainful employment at a paying job.
However, lots of them do something about it by performing volunteer work instead.
But there are those who say that they aren't working if they don't have a paying job. They are wrong.
The thing is, volunteer workers are still working despite the fact that they don't earn a paycheck each week. And they often work just as hard at their volunteer job(s) as they
would if they had a paying job. As a result, they end up contributing to society just as much as individuals who work at a paying job.
Hence, those with disabilities who volunteer their time and efforts have nothing to be ashamed about at all.
