Viva America::A doctor who killed babies and endangered women

Most people I know have formulated an opinion one way or another. I believe it did happen. It was adequately documented on many levels with records and photographic evidence.

Your turn.

there are differing stories about it...that's a long story and I am feeling sleepy now. Maybe will talk about it some other time lest you or some others don't get offended and go berserk at my impartial views !.

I find it impossible to believe he caused the deaths of 40 million. Factually, he would have been performing 1,081,081 illegal abortions per year, and 2,691 per day. That's IMPOSSIBLE.
And you shouldn't drum into people that abortion is always wrong. In certain circumstances it is perfectly acceptable.
If the foetus has no heartbeat, it is not yet alive, and thus not murder.

I believe that a fetus DOES in fact have a heartbeat and therfore killing it is NOT acceptable,to suggest anything else seems cold and somehow inhumane....however, I'm not for making it illegal...I believe that a womans body is her own and I wouldn't judge her if her decision was to terminate a pregnancy that she feels she can't cope with.....now don't get me wrong, I'm in no way saying that it's ok to sleep around recklessly and then kill your mistake...I'm merely saying that I've never known a woman to think in terms of what's best for herself when she's carrying her child, unless she's got good reason. Who are we to judge?

I'm a woman, therefore I'm able to judge in terms of myself.
I agree, if a woman sleeps around wrecklessly it is cold. However, not every woman does that.
Many of my friends have had children and are unable to take care of them properly because they were not ready to have children and never had the funds or the frame of mind, now their children are suffering and the mothers have admitted they made a huge mistake.
Foetus' do not have a heartbeat from the moment you become pregnant. I have known many a pregnant woman, and, the heart has not developed enough to beat until after the third month of pregnancy, which is why up until three months you can terminate your pregnancy with a pill.
I believe only the oral form of abortion, (taking a pill), is acceptable. I do believe however that it is more cold and heartless to bring a child into a world of poverty and sadness than to have an abortion early on when you realise you cannot take care of one.

lol...I've been pregnant twice and both times I've been able to feel that baby next to my heart from the moment I was aware of the pregnancy. The pregnancy pill, in my opinion, is made too available to women, and IMO it's easily abused. If ones stance is to not bring children into a cold and poverty stricken world then perhaps they should've taken the OTHER pill to prevent the pregnancy to begin with, either that or .....well there are other options. I would never be so brazen as to tell another women what to do with her own body....but I think that as human beings it's our duty not to ignore that fine line that sits somewhere between our rights and our responsiblilies.

I completely agree, and we are all entitled to our opinions.
But it is wrong to say that those who believe that abortion is okay are cold and heartless.
I will bring a child into the World when I am able to look after it. I take precautions however, and so that will not happen.

When talking about abortion in lessons I do remember an example that was put forward about a young woman being rape and ending up pregnant. Would you think it cold to terminate a pregnancy in that situation?

That's my point exactly. I've known women who were torn up inside with the thought of making such a decision, but they made it and I'm not sure I wouldn't have done the same thing in the same situation, that's why it bugs me when women take it for granted, I wish they'd realize the harm it does those women who actually NEED that right to abort. You said it all right there.....that will never happen because you take precautions....if only all women were so responsible.

Believe me, I'm not here to disagree with you because where I live the majority of pregnancies are in people under the age of twenty-five, and of those more than half weren't planned. But there are always exceptions.
Kudos to you :)

To you as well. Around here, it seems that a lot of young girls aged 16 to 19 are getting pregnant...I don't understand, I thought that today's youth were suppose to be better informed.

Bearing in mind, some 16-19 year old girls genuinely believe they are ready to have a baby and actually plan to get pregnant. I know that doesn't have any implications for abortion statistics, but it does on young mother stats.

I know....it's amazing. A friend of my daughters, she just turned 18 has just had her 3rd abortion.....she doesn't want to become a mother she just doesn't want to use protection, obviously. She called the boy and told him about the baby and his repy was....'.get rid of it'. Nice huh?
