Thanks guys. We talked to a mortgage guy last weekened and he hasnt called us back so I kinda feel icky about it. These places are super nice. The city is the place we want to live too. They are out in the country in a small town that we like. We went and looked at them last night but they models werent open at that time. I just home someone will finance us. We want to do it under John's name only because you can get first time home buyers stuff. If we use my first time home buyers then next time we buy a house we wont have it.

He does. Right now I am in debt up to my ears from an ex who decided to mooch the hell out of me. We want to try to roll my debt into the loan if we can and get that off of me. Then just one of my paychecks would pay the mortgage payment each month. It wouldnt be too much more than we are paying in rent right now.

We would like to pay off his bike, get some money saved up in the bank and get my debt paid off. I am going to try to get a loan for 10k to get it all paid.

Hi Ali.

Ah, that's a shame you gotta pay off debt first, but I think you're doing the right thing, Ali. You don't want the stress of the mortgage and debt hanging over you, giving you both grief, which may in turn cause tension between you both.

If you go for a house when that's done, you'll feel much better and relaxed.

Good luck either way Ali. :)

Thanks R. We dont have to pay off our debt before the mortgage, we just figured it was more intelligent. Then we can get a bigger and better house than the one we found now. Only looking at next spring anyways. The payments arent much more than what we are paying now but we wouldnt be able to stash away savings for the off chance that something bad happens like we need a new appliance, or one of us loses our job etc. Gotta have the emergency stash. Plus the more we save up, the lower our payments and APR will be. It's pretty much a win win situation.

Yeah we would like to put 20k down on the house, and have at least 15k in the bank. Shouldnt be an issue after the Harley is paid off.
