I thought it would be fun to have a thread to post Urban Legends or scary/paranormal stories.

I'll start with one I read the other day and thought was pretty good.

My cousin had recently split up with his girlfriend, lots of drama and sadness and emotion flying around. He went off to Ibiza for the summer with the boys, she took herself off walking and wild camping in Austria.

She was away for two weeks and really got her head together, hardly spoke to a soul and enjoyed the solitude. She'd taken her phone for emergencies but barely turned it on, just left it next to her in the tent every night for reassurance.

When she got back home she was going through her emails and messages on her phone, and ended up in the gallery app to have one last look at her photos of my cousin before deleting them for good. The pictures of him should've been the last pics taken, but there were about a dozen dark, grainy ones at the top of the gallery that she couldn't make out, they were too indistinct.

Intrigued, she copied them over to her computer and increased the light level. Her flatmate found her still at her desk hours later, sitting transfixed in front of 14 photos, all from a different night, each showing her fast asleep in her sleeping bag.

HOLY S***.

Hmm, My aunt lived in this house that dated back to the early 1900's. This house had a garage recently built in the back yard for storage. My uncle had this thing filled with stuff, to where you wouldn't be able to move anything unless you opened the garage door and emptied the thing out. He puts his lawnmower at the front for the ease of getting it out to mow the lawn.

This happened many times, He would finish mowing the lawn, put the mower away at the front of the garage and close the door. 20 minutes later he would go out to the garage and opens the man door (which is about 10 feet away from the garage door itself and 8 feet from where he puts the lawn mower) and the lawn mower is right there when he first opens the door, not only that, but everything else in the garage is moved. and there has been no living being even close to that garage.

Inside the house, which is a 2 story building, Things keep disappearing from the second floor when my aunt is home.

Is this strange or what?

Man that is creepy.

Btw, the one I posted isn't about one of my family members. It was from an email I got sent a while ago but I thought it was so good, I couldn't be bothered to change the wording. I've always wanted something creepy to happen to me. The closest thing is this:

When I was 15 I was staying at a friend's house. Her mum had gone out so it was just us two alone in the house. My friend wanted to go to toilet and started to walk up the stairs when she came quickly & quietly back down with a scared look on her face. "Kate, Kate," she whispered. "Omg someone is in the house in the bathroom. I don't think he saw me." We both then panic and then decide to arm ourselves and investigate. She had a golf club, I had a baseball bat and we start going up the stairs (me in front as she didn't want to be killed).

We reach the top and there really is something in the bathroom and it's moving!!!! I'm absolutely shitting myself and want to go back down stairs. She pushes me forward and I'm in the bathroom and just hitting the "person" with the bat.

It was a bath towel hung up to dry.... It was moving because the window was slightly open. We both felt so silly.

I sometimes wish that things that were as silly as that would happen, rather than things like what happened below.

Another true story.

My grandfather recently died and left my grandmother all on here own in a small town. My mom and I often go down to her house to do work or to visit her. Now, my grandfather was a self-employed mechanic and spent many of his days in the garage, and he was mean in his youth when he was a young father.

One day, My mom and I are visiting my grandmother and I see this figure walk right through the closed garage door, he was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. My mom passed it off as my imagination until later on when she was going to trim the hedges. My mom had forgotten to grab our hedge trimmer and my grandmother offered to let her use grandpas old hedge trimmer. My mom said, "Oh no, not that piece of s***." and proceeded to get the trimmer and trim the hedges. Not five minutes later she almost cut her finger off with the trimmer (which she was paying close attention to) and when she looked up she saw a figure walking to the garage and disappear into the door.

that would be a great prank
take pictures with someones phone while they are sleep of them sleeping
and random other stuff that made no since why it was photographed
like pull some of their clothes out and place them neatly on floor and take a pic
take a pic while standing over them and your shadow is over them

I have had many occasions where me and another person were have the same thoughts about something at the same time and we had not been or ever have been talking about it before with each other.
I also have had over more than 10 occasions where for a brief period 5 to 10 minutes or so that everything electronic that I touched malfunctioned or turned off. Like one time (this all happened in a matter of minutes) my digital watch had nothing on it like the battery was dead I tried to use the microwave and when I put my finger on the button it said Err on screen and stayed. I picked up a remote for TV and none of the buttons worked and tried 3 other remotes then went to my computer that was already on and the keyboard and mouse wouldn't work and the speakers had a static sound if I got near them
I could walk to the other side of the room and someone else could use the remotes

This is an old Urban Legend but it's a good one.

A young lady is alone in her apartment. She goes to bed that night with her dog next to the bed. In the middle of the night she is awoken by a strange noise. She is alarmed but figures it must be nothing as her dog hasn't made a single noise. She reaches down to stroke him and gets a reassuring lick on the hand. She then goes back to sleep.

In the morning she wakes up to find her dog has been killed and there is a note on the floor which says "humans can lick too."
