Just sat here muching a bag of Twiglets and I thought that probably none of you Americans would have a clue what a Twiglet was!

Why is it some foods get shared and others don't?? Who decide's which go and which stay??

It's the same with fast food restaurants... we've got McD's and burger king and KFC... not one Taco Bell though or Wendys.

What do you think??? What snack foods should we be sharing??

I was just fixing to ask you what the hell was a Twiglet and then I finished reading your post :D The word Twiglet reminded me of Twizzlers

Do you guys have a Sonic or an Arbys?

What about Doritos, Fritos, Lays, Ruffles. Any of those chips?

Sonic is a drive thru fast food chain restaurant.

Yeah I think we have all of those crisps (chips) with the acception of Fritos.. not sure about them.

I noticed when I was over in NYC that some of your chocolate bars are completely different to the ones with the same name here!
For instance describe a Mars Bar to me.

I think we generally have the same crap as the US with a couple of Pommy things thrown in.

We have Doritos, Fritos, Lays, Ruffles as well as Smiths Chips.

Fast food restaurants like KFC, Maccas, Red Rooster, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, Burger King but we also have Oporto (Portugese Chicken - hot)

Choccy bars like Mars, Snickers but also Crunchie - Honeycomb & Chocolate.

Australians don't use much Marmite, but heaps of Vegemite (tastes better, I reckon).

No Sonic or Arbys, twiglets or Twizzlers, or Taco Bells.

Sounds like your Mars bar is the same as ours.. the American version is different.. has nuts in if I remember rightly.

Mars is smooth creamy caramel & chocolate.

Crunchie is Honeycomb & chocolate which I read somewehere was unique to Australia, maybe it has reached the rest of the world.

My personal favourite is Snickers - I don't think you can get better than chocolate, peanuts & caramel all together.

mmm..chocolate

Yeah, they are all the same as the Brit versions. We certainly do have Crunchie's, I think they originated here... might have to research that one!

This is why I don't rely on my memory, it's piss weak. Obviously Cadbury's makes all these chocs over here.

Hmm I remember I didn't have squat when I was in Ukraine. Sure, the gum and the candy bars or whatever were there - but I have absolutely no memories of any fast food restaurants. Stupid Communism!

I do remember the Mars candy bar like someone mentioned earlier, but strangely enough - I've never seen it here. I also remember Bounty, the two-piece coconut bar covered with chocolate and well... that's about it. Everything else was either stolen, generic (like the soda drinks), bootlegged or called its own like our Nintendo, which was a "Dendi", and our Atarai 2600, which was a "Rambo".

They pretty much just took the consoles, remade their own versions of it and called it their own. It's funny, I know - but no one gave a shit and no one did a thing about it :lol

You don't get the Bounty bars in the US? I'm in Canada, and we get them.

One thing I am absolutely in love with is Vimto. My dad brought me a case last time he went to England. It's juice (you can get it carbonated, or "fizzy", too, which is how I like it) made with black currants and stuff.

Um, Tim Hortens is Canadian, but I guess there's a few in the States. Not much else, though.

yep, we even have the 7/11 chain over here although these days they are mainly 24/7. A lot of our petrol stations are open late or all night & most of them sell convenience stuff - eat any crap you want at 2 in the morning (& I do mean crap).

We also have Cheetos & Bounty.

After seeing pictures of shopping malls from around the world, I once heard them referred to as Generica, because once you are inside one of them they are pretty much the same everywhere.
