In AL you have to be laid off or fired. You pay taxes that support unemplyment .. so when you get fired you are owed unemployment compensation. I think you have to have worked somewhere between 6 months and a year.
I'm extremely serious here Clare, call the EEOC and discuss with them your situation NOW. EEOC is the Equal Employment Opportunity Commisson .. it is a Federal agency, not state, and the laws it protects do not vary from state to state either.
Pregant women are akin to a person with a disability .. and discrimination against them is HIGHLY unethical. You should contact them NOW before anything else happens. Get your complaint in writing with them .. that way if anything happens and you lose your job you have a solid case against them for compensation until you find another job.
