I also drive a 2k1 Corolla. And a 1970 Beetle. Both of which I have taken off-road (not mud-doggin). Almost got my Corolla stuck in loose sand on an dirt off-road (which was also a not-allowed-to-go-here-road i.e. "off limits" i.e. "Government Property. No Trespassing.") also there were no regular patrols, nor were there any cell-phone zones...

that beetle has been through so much, and I'm not even sure how many times the odometer has rolled over!! Original everything except the steering wheel wrap! I was gonna put a baffle exhaust system on it when i had it in italy, but then i came back to the us...

what interior heating? lol I had it for 6 months when i found the switch for the rear defogger, under the wheel all the way back... and the whole vent system was messed up... somebody before me took out the unit apparently to "repair it :24:" and reconnected all the wires... um somehow...:willy_nilly::willy_nilly:
