when viewing threads in any section, internet explorer 7, beta 3, shows a little information bar with the following text:

this website wants to run the follwoing add-on: 'quicktimecheck scriptable object' from 'apple computer, inc. (unverified publisher)'. if you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here...

what might be going on here? if any other member's are receiving this, please reply, or if not, reply anyways... that way i know i need to do some work on my computer :eek:wned

It wants to check for the latest addition of their Quick time AV application.
I think it basically wants to grep for stuff in your harddrive.

We're not doing any of that, and their's nothing in our source code that would suggest the server's been compromised (it's quite secure actually). If anyone else is getting this message, say so. But, I doubt it. We do run alittle javascript for PM notification and the header area, but nothing to do with quicktime.

The fact that that error misspelled the word "follwoing" suggests that theirs probably a hack / virus / trojan of sorts running in your browser.

nah... my fingers type too fast :D and i ran spybot with updated definitions and all... it didnt find anything that sounded close to the message...

hmm..
