I think we need to make a list of suggestions to tidy this place up and have a vote on each of them, like a referendum.

I believe that the 1 star rating means terrible. This damn thread shoiuld be a lesson to EVERYONE! It should be locked and removed from the board. I feel bad for V when she comes back to this.

Dana has hardly posted in the last few pages of this thread... which is more than can be said for plenty of other folks... even the ones who just come back every so often just to point out what a horrible thread it is, and how they can't believe it's still going. Here's a hint folks... it'll keep on going as long as you all post in it!!
You know as well as I do that people are going to continue posting in here just like you and I are and everybody else until this thread is locked and taken off the main forum. you came back to post so youre just as guilty as everyone else. :nod:

But the OP wanted to give his opinion, just like all the other people who posted in this thread. So perhaps all those who have been upset shouldn't have posted either. Maybe we should all stop posting completely, in all threads... then what would the point be of the forum... but at least no one will have their feelings hurt.

So calling everybody a twit is giving an opinion? And I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to stop posting in all the threads and leave and not come back. Now isn't that nice for V to come back to?
I am going to close this thread now seeing as it has deteriorated to the point that it has. Let it be clear, however, that that is the ONLY reason that it's being closed. This thread has served as an example for several points and allowing it to remain open has illustrated some of those points.
1) We will NOT close a thread at the request of the OP simply b/c it did not illicit the response that they were wanting. We're all big boys and girls and if we can dish it out we ought to be able to take it, too, no???
2) Those of you suggesting a dungeon area (or whatever you want to call it) where you can hash out your problems w/ each other...how'd this thread work out for that??? This thread is EXACTLY what would happen in that section...total and complete shit. It has always been a bad idea and I would pretty much bet my next paycheck that it will NEVER happen on this site. As is always suggested, problems should be taken to PM. This does NOT give you a free license to be abusive, profane, obscene, or threatening. PMs are reportable as well as posts...so you still need to act appropriately even in PMs. There are ways to talk out your differences w/o resorting to name-calling and vile behavior.
3) In a couple of weeks I will be sitting down w/ V to have a discussion about the problems on the site lately. If possible, I may try to get a couple more mods in on a conference call. HOWEVER, we mods are human and we do make mistakes sometimes. But at some point you guys have to take some responsibility for your actions as well. Please note that I said in a couple of weeks. Seeing as V just gave birth today, I will not be bothering her w/ this anytime soon. If you have her personal contact numbers, please do not bother her. She has a new little one to take care of and does not need to be bothered w/ this site until she is good and ready. There are enough mods here to take care of the problem, no matter what your personal problems may be w/ some of us.
4) Please continue to report posts that violate the rules and regulations of the site via thereport button. If you are not familiar w/ the rules, please visit the thread at http://www.offtopicz.net/showthread.php?t=14184 . Please do not PM your concerns to a mod if there is a reportable post, visitor's message, or PM. This distributes the workload to a small percentage of the mods and, in turn, we have to turn around and report your PM so that it can be discussed in the mod room, thereby delaying any action.
