Hello! I support you on this post....No-one wants to be unemployed....This economy is horrible. I think that it is great that we have an unemployment system. There would not be an unemployment system...if there was not a NEED for one. I have a sister who is 44 and who has been on state assisted living (gets money from the state for a disability)...she has since she was about 21. She has gotten all kinds of flak for this her whole life...BECAUSE she LOOKS normal. But, the left side of her brain is not right....She does not add...read, write...well. She can do all those things...but at like a 6th grade level. However, if you look at her (and she is a bad alcoholic)...people think she is just a lazy alcoholic...because she LOOKS fine. She is actually a very attractive girl. She only gets 700 a month....only pays 200 for rent, she pays for her own cable...she is on food stamps, doesn't have a car....etc. I'm THANKFUL That the state pays for her living expenses...because WE as a family can not. I also have a son who has been struggling with drug addiction for the past 5 years...but REALLY bad the past year and has lost 4 jobs....He is currently on unemployment because he lost his last job in August...he has an apt...and I am also thankful that he can collect until he gets back on his feet. Everyone that is on unemployment is on it for a legitimate reason...and the STATES make it extra hard to get any assistance...so if you don't belong on it...you wont BE ON IT.:thumbup

I have Dana on ignore, but his threads still pop up in my "New Posts" thingy, and out of pure curiosity, like the kind you feel when you turn on Jerry Springer, I came in here to see what Dana had to say.
However, it's not worth really commenting on since it is indeed trolling. It is a post made purely to fire people up and start drama. I mean not even reading what Dana actually said, I would like to say I'm sure it's not the fact that you are unemployed Dana, but the way you behave and treat others that so many have issues with.
Hotty is unemployed (sorry Hotty) and we all pretty much still love her! She's kind, interesting, courteous and bubbly. Not cranky like you Dana.
I just had to come back up Peter - it's true that if you avoid what Dana has to say, you really almost wouldn't have anything to read on this forum. Very sad.

At least the part of sleeping ing...but I do love to work...I could not stay home. And I still support that there are some legitmate reasons why people have to be on unemployment...and/or live with their parents.

That is so untrue. Most but not everybody is deserving. But there are plenty that game the system. And it is a proven fact that many on it could get a job even today. They just will not allow themselves to accept what is available. They would rather take the unemployment and sit on their ass then work for about the same pay because they feel entitled. Thus the problem with continually extending unemployment. It was never meant to go on for month after month. That provides no incentive to take whatever job you can find.
I agree that there will always be people that game the system, but I think the percentage is much smaller than you think. I'd bet it isn't even in the double digits.
I think it's unfair to paint the unemployed and disabled with the same brush AA. That said, almost any disabled person has the ability to do some meaningful work. It's all a matter of wanting to and needing a reason to get out of bed instead of laying there feeling sorry for themselves or looking for excuses not to.
Again, its definetly on an individual basis...I will tell you that my son (the one who lost his job because has a problem staying AWAKE because he has a drug problem)...Has straightened out and has been getting intensive counseling and drug treatment. He has various resources (counselors) helping him with job searches AND He looks EVERYDAY for a job...he BEGS for jobs..there have been a couple of weeks where he has gotten depressed about where he is in his life and he did not look because he keeps being told ...he is either not qualified...or he doesn't get call backs. Everyday and night he looks for jobs...and he is panicking...because he needs a job for various reasons..Its not EASY to find a job...and I'm saying...I'm glad that unemployment is there for people who need it.
I can go by personal experience with three relatives over the years that did not work because they refused to lower their standards.
One is a teenager. She needs money to do what kids do but won't work at this place and that place. Always has an excuse. She is a prima dona in that regard. Only certain jobs will she take.
Years ago another relative was in a similar position after getting out of college. She was doing an internship which did not pay anything and bitched about being broke. But she would not work at McDonalds. That was beneath her standards.
Yet another relative got laid off a year ago. I guarantee when the unemployment runs out she will take whatever she can find.
None of these had or has an excuse to not work. There ARE jobs out there for those willing to work.

Well, I wish my son would be able to land one....we constantly look...no luck....and he will work at McDonalds....he doesn't CARE. He used to care...but now that he is in the situation he is in....he really doesn't care...he wants to go to work...don't get me wrong..he shovels for people when it snows...he puts adds on Craigs lists for odd jobs...and he has had some...but he wants full time. We even thought looking at 3rd shift jobs would put him in a better spot because it is a crappy shift...no 3rd shifts around here either...

And just FYI, a domain name with free hosting is like 12 bucks at godaddy. As long as you don't mind their advertising. If you do, it's five bucks a month for the hosting without the ads. I'm sure you could spare that out of your go out to clubs and party fund.
NO that's not why.... I've been looking for a cheap domain for a while and thought maybe he knew one. Not the domain service i had already posted about. I read wtf he wrote. He's not saying anything i haven't heard before but you know what? It takes money to buy webspace and a domain. And seeing as I have an over 100 dollar bill i pay already if i got a domain & space, itd have to be cheap. But there you go insinuating crap. That's okay though, you have plenty of friends in that crowded little world of yours where you think what you want and the truth doesn't matter.
