So this Sunday my stepmom's family is holding a picnic at the park, and I'm expected to go too for some reason. Now I can't stand any of these people and want nothing to do with their picnic but I don't want to just come out and say that I want nothing to do with them, any suggestions on getting out of this?

* Arm yourself with a good pillow, a book or some magazines.. or anything you can do by yourself..
* Talk with everyone in a pleasant way and chit chat about fluffy things, nothing important to avoid arguments..
* Eat all the free food, and drink what's available, to your heart's content..
* Then, find a quiet place under a tree, and read until you fall asleep...

You will look like a million dollars and save the peace..
