when i upload photos to photobucket i make sure to click resize auto to 640x480 for message boards

1. To start microsoft Paint, click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Accessories', then 'Paint'
2. Open the image file you wish to edit
3. Click the 'Image' Menu at the top and select "Stretch/Skew Image"
4. Choose a percentage figure to resize the image: to avoid distortion, choose the same percentage for horizontal and vertical stretch
5. Click "Ok"
6. Once you have the desired size, click 'File', then 'Save' or 'File', then 'Save As..' to prevent overwriting the original image
7. Second Method
   • Select the entire image
   • Hold down Ctrl and press - or + to resize the image.

No I didn't type that but it took less than 10 seconds to google it. I didn't feel like typing it out.

Can you resize a copy and paste image using 'paint' without saving the image?

I copied and pasted the image from DIGG directly to avoid the hassle of saving it.

Well that's just silly. Always go "right click + properties" to check the dimensions - if they're too big, or you can see from the image it's going to stretch the pages, then save it and resize it.
