I really don't watch much TV, but yesterday, saw a couple of commercials for Domino's pizza.

They're advertising "track your pizza online" so I guess you can follow your pizza in the making up to delivery.

Now, I really live out in the country. NO ONE is ever going to deliver food to my place, BUT...if I lived in town and I ordered a pizza, my expectations would be simple. Those two rules would be

1. Not a bend over and rape you price
2. I have the pizza in less than 60 minutes after I called.

What I'm trying to figure out is who really would care to see where Dominoes is at with your pizza via online? I'm actually kind of insulted that Dominoes would actually think I would really care what they're doing to my pizza just as long as they get me the pizza in a timely fashion. My next thought is that they still must be hard up for business after catching the nose pickers in one of their shops (or was that Pizza hut? LOL)

Dominos is the only pizza place in town. I actually like their tracker. It is pretty accurate. They always say your pizza will be done in 20-25 minutes but it is usually done a lot quicker. It gives me a better idea of when to leave the house if I am picking up a carryout order.

I can track my pizza, if they say half an hour that means two hours before you get some Polish guy asking why you arn't answering a door 20 miles away.:willy_nilly:

Well, if it's usually there in 25 minutes or less, why don't you plan on ordering the pizza when you'd like it in 25 minutes or less and plan on leaving the house accordingly to when you ordered it?

If I call a place and it can't be at my door in an hour or less, I'll order it elsewhere. Never pays to piss off the people who make your food (I had a buddy hollering at a pizza place one time over the phone because they were late LOL).

Tracking any kind of order is big in todays world. We want to know who, what, when, where, why, and how RIGHT MEOW!
I think it's neat.

I guess I am having a hard time following your question. Sometimes they take much longer. Other times they are quick. I would prefer my pizza not sit there for too long before I pick it up. It makes my life slightly easier, so why not? It doesn't take any effort on my part to have the screen up on my computer.

Why the hate for the pizza timer?

I saw the commercial about it and I thought it was actually a cool idea. It's something that other pizza joints aren't doing yet, but I bet they will. I mean, if you can ORDER a pizza online why not be able to track it, too???

I guess I can't understand how tracking a pizza helps. Tell me when you're going to deliver it, if you don't meet your word, I won't buy it again. Simple for me I guess.

Well, I usually pick up the pizza from the store. It keeps me from leaving too early and having to wait,

I think I read something on their box that says they do their best to deliver within 60 minutes, but don't guarantee it (meaning give you a free pizza if it isn't) because they value the safety of their drivers. It makes sense to me. I don't want someone hauling ass to my house and getting hurt over a pizza.

Ordering your pizza online is pretty sweet! Even though I've heard terrible things about Domino's Pizza. :D

Oh and ya'll have it made with your nice pizza delivery places.

Hell, I like it. I've only used it once because we don't order takeout much, but it helped put some perspective on how long it was actually taking. Normally we forget when we've ordered and then sit around fuming about how hungry we are - having a tracker is pretty cool and gives you a sense of 'stuff is happening' rather than just waiting aimlessly.
