It's a male Red Eared Slider. Which now that they say that, it makes sense. I can totally see it - it just doesn't have any of the colors.

They said : Sometimes, as male RES get older, they turn melanistic, that is, they lose their pretty green, yellow and red coloration and turn mostly black






we actually have one of these. and it's cute because he sticks his leg out like that too!!!
