Hi all.

Well, have just heard on the news that there have been a number of tornados in England, in a few different places, with a good few miles inbetween.

Peter, did you hear too, or had you gone to bed by then?

I don't think there's been too much damage though, not like in America and other countries that normally get them.

Well its not really that common here either. Its just we have a greater chance of getting them because we are bigger. If we looked at it state by state with a few exceptions i bet we don't get much more than you do.

Hurricanes though.

We got a dusting of snow here last year when I was visiting...which they say is rare here. And when it does snow, its gone by the end of the day.

Just seen it on the news, in Farnborough, the other side of London to me. It knocked some chimneys off and did some serious damage to some garages! We had one in London do some serious damage last year, don't know whats going on, we never used to get them and the're starting to get quite regular now!

Yeah, I am fine thanks Suzie and glad you are too Peter.

As Peter said, we never used to, but then climate and all......

Yeah LP, we get to see on our news, the devastation caused over there by hurricanes. It is jaw-dropping just seeing the few clips that they show here of them over there.

Suzie, no snowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's unheard of! I don't like it at all, not like Amy up there ^^^^^^^^ she loves the snow.

Autumn, my favourite time. Not too hot, not too cold. That'll do nicely for me. :) ;)

It was absolutely chucking it down about 5am this morning here in Bristol, but today it's just mainly been a bit windy.

If you've never been in a tornado, consider yourself lucky. I've been in quite a few in my Texas days. NOT FUN. Picture this:

You're sleeping, your parents come in the room and wake you up and carry you in the closet. All you here is the static of the AM radio coming in with some guy talking about the weather, then you hear the sound of a low but LOUD rumbling..... then the walls shake, then, it's over. Not fun at all.

Sounds scary, hope we don't carry on getting more of them. I saw Twister but a lot of it seemed rather fake but I'd rather see that than the real thing.:(

Nah, most of the stuff in Twister the movie really does happen, you just don't get the chance to see it. A tornado can take a plastic fork and stick it in a tree without breaking the fork. No joke.

Yeah but I doubt a landrover could drive along without even the arial being bent while a gas tanker blows across the road just in front of it!;)

Well, it could happen, I mean, tornados have winds up to 300mph, and if the tornado is say, 1/4 mile away, the winds won't effect the Land Rover, while it could still throw a tanker 1/4 mile with that kinda force. Know what I mean? Believe me, tornados can make things seem unreal.
