Tornado Season

The air conditioning was out at school. I got to spend an hour crouched in the hallway with a lot of smelly, grumpy middle schoolers. Due to the tornado warnings the buses were an hour late. Then the drive home took double the amount of time because of flooded roads. When I got home I had the pleasure of cleaning up my trash that had been knocked over and strewn across the neighbors yard along with the mess the dogs left in the garage. Guess they just couldn't hold it that extra 2 hours.

However, things could have been much worse. The school only had minor damage. No one was hurt. My house is unharmed. Can't help but curse mother nature right about now though. :jk

Anyone else dealing with tornado warnings today?

Here is our scoreboard. It was just installed a year ago. The school had been asking for it for about 5 years. I wonder how many years it will take to fix the durn thing. :24:

Holy cow! That sign is ridiculous!

We're supposed to get "text book tornado producing storms" tonight. Or something like that. But it was 80 today so I can't complain too much.

Oh no. I hope you are able to get some sleep! It seems the storms that come during the night are even more dangerous since people aren't as prepared.

It was in the 70's today. But the storm brought the cold weather with it. Evidently it is supposed to get down in the 30's tomorrow morning.

♥ Stay safe.. ♥
My thoughts are with everyone in those areas, including my daughter and family..
We have heavy thunderstorms predicted for tonight and temperatures going down from 80 today, to mid 40 tomorrow..we always get the tail end of your storms with all their fury here..

Update: It seems our school was damaged a bit more than we originally thought. During the night, some of the ceiling tiles in the upstairs classrooms had become soggy and fallen in and water was dripping down the walls. When someone went outside, they noticed the roof was damaged. It was this side of the building that a window shattered in as well.

Our school is about 200 students beyond max capacity so unfortunately those teachers will just have to deal with their classrooms the way that they are. There are no empty rooms to move them to. In fact, you can see the roof of one of our 7 portables (lovingly known as cottages) in the lower right hand corner.

Scary stuff.
