Took my wife on a redneck date tonight.

:24::24:

Dude, I had no idea you were such a bad ass!!:rockon:

I know my wifes favorite is the little .38. I don't think it'll bite your Angel enough to scare her away from the sport.

I don't know the laws where you live, but if you can get her on a Cal-Tek 9, she'll probably like that one too.

When I was stationed in North Carolina, me and my buddy would go down the the range once a week and blow $50 or so. Of course $20 of that went to 20 rounds of .50. :eek The Eagle is a monster, but WELL worth the $1 a shot. :D

It was her first time out, so I was extra careful not to scare her away from it. I just wanted to give her a taste so she would want to come back for more... she said she would like to go back... that's the time we can upgrade to a .38

As far as the Cal-Tek 9. We have a place here where we can shoot that. It's a gun store dedicated to end of the world survivalists... they have some bad ass guns in that place. They equip all the swat teams around here. Defcon 1 is the name of the store... I'll see if I can find their website.

To be fair, probably just about any woman would be a better shot with a real gun than me. For some reason I have a huge fear of them because of the fact it so easily could kill me. The only time anyone has ever had a loaded gun near me I nearly passed out!:willy_nilly:

*Holds hands up! Yeah, I'm a big pussy in that regard!*:(

The very first thing I did was to teach my wife how to properly handle the firearm. It was pointed down range at ALL times, and was loaded only when were ready to shoot. Plus the fact that double action revolvers are safer guns to learn on...

**Sigh**

Hearing things like this makes me hate living in California. The store sounds really fun.

LMAO!! Your honesty is commendable Pete. :24:

Maybe this will help:

This is the GOOD side.

Very wise. I've seen unintentional firings before. It's crazy when they happen. You can see it coming, and try to stop it, but it seems like it's always too late.

Gun safety is SOOOO important. Good job bringing her up right.

Not really I'd be worried either way about killing someone or being killed. I think I have a phobia about guns the same way some people do about spiders ect, I guess. Is there a word for a phobia of guns? I think that's what I've got.:(

Nope, not at all... The sights were definitely off to the right. The gun didn't look like it was in A1 condition. But I shot a quick group and it was off to the right... Doesn't really matter at this point, I just wanted her to get a feel for it...

maybe you were doing the same thing...perhaps...or the sights might of been off...I could be wrong...I'm not trying to impune your inteeligence on the subject but every gun I've ever shot I've shot expert with and I've helped a shit load of people pass gun quals

I think this is a neat idea. Can I pick your brains for a couple minutes?
What is the typical shooting range like? Can you rent the fire arms or do you have to own your own?
Is it expensive?

The hubbie and I try to have a special 'date' at least once a month or so. And this sounds like a fun one to try.

I haven't shot a weapon since basic training...but I made marksman so I might be good at it! I wonder if there's a shooting range around here.

Our little date at the range cost $28. that was gun rental, range time for both of us, 50 rounds of .22 cal. 3 targets and safety gear.

I'm sure it would jump up quite a bit for the ammo part if we were using .40 or .45 cal.
But she isn't ready for anything big yet... baby steps

An Bacon... I'm positive that it was the sights. I was able to squeeze off a nice tight group of three. If it were a .357 or .44 then I might consider the possibility. But not this little pee shooter. It had a very smooth trigger action.

That sound reasonable. Now I just need to hunt down a range in my area! I think I will surprise him with this date. He loves it when I choose manly type activities! (A couple months ago I surprised him and took him deep sea fishing)
