Donnie, you would have been so proud of her. I took her to an indoor firing range. It was the first time she ever held a gun, let alone fire one... We used a Smith & Wesson .22 caliber 6 shot double action revolver. I wanted to get her used to holding and firing a gun before moving up to anything larger. I didn't want to scare her away from it before she got a chance to fall in love with the sport.
The targets below are from 10 feet (far left) 15 feet (center target) and 25 feet. She didn't miss the paper one tonight. As you can see the sights were off to the right, but I told her to not worry about it, just worry about aiming at the same spot every time. There were others shooting at the range at the same time, 9mm and .40cal so she was very jumpy at first. Even with hearing protection you could feel the percussion of the other guns... went right through you.
We had a great time and she wants to go again. Probably do the .22 again, then work her into a .38 revolver... Maybe by summer I can strap a .44 Magnum in her little hands. :D

Anyway, I was very pleased at how steady she was for her first time.

Hey now nothing wrong with a redneck date. I myself am proud to be a redneck.
Got to love shooting guns though. That is some fun indeed.

Hell, I miss my guns... I need to pick some up again. I miss going down to the range and blowing $50 in shells.... Hell at one time I was bench reloading my own 9mm rounds with a Dillion 4 station progressive loader...

:24::24:

Dude, I had no idea you were such a bad ass!! :rockon::rockon:

I know my wifes favorite is the little .38. I don't think it'll bite your Angel enough to scare her away from the sport.

I don't know the laws where you live, but if you can get her on a Cal-Tek 9, she'll probably like that one too.

When I was stationed in North Carolina, me and my buddy would go down the the range once a week and blow $50 or so. Of course $20 of that went to 20 rounds of .50. :eek The Eagle is a monster, but WELL worth the $1 a shot. :D

damn good job with the grouping...looks like she's putting too much finger on the trigger and anticipating the shot a little

Nope, not at all... The sights were definitely off to the right. The gun didn't look like it was in A1 condition. But I shot a quick group and it was off to the right... Doesn't really matter at this point, I just wanted her to get a feel for it...

Believe it or not, this is actually a scientific fact.

The Russians figured it out back in WWII. The problem is pulling the trigger on a live target. They're bad asses at the range, but when it came time to end a father, brother, son, etc... they were hesitating and getting killed.

Some of the best Russian snipers were women... was that in WWII? I can't remember.

Well, if you buy one and keep it in the house, you know she will be able to use it if needed. I personally hope that she doesn't need to use it for a situation like that.
