Today's the big day

Verizon guy is coming out today and hooking us up. We decided to go ahead and get cable too. I am excited about that. I haven't had cable in over a year... I haven't had any form of TV in over a year, aside from streaming online, and that's not really TV.

It's just been ridiculous with the arrangement we had with our neighbor about using his wifi and now he's shutting it off when he goes to work (most days, but not today, oddly enough) and when something goes wrong I can't go reset the router and he's been an ass the last few times I mentioned it being wacky. It was nice paying only $10/month (which come to find out is illegal! :eek) and it's going to suck having to actually pay for it full price, but we're getting cable and internet from Verizon for what we used to pay Comcast for just internet. Or like $5 more or something.

But I've been up since 730 and the window I was given was 8 AM through 5 PM with installation taking 4-6 hours. It's going to be a LONG day.

we had ours done last week during a storm last week, now they are right in it takes 4-6 hours. we had five boxes (two had HD and two with Tivo) now just remember your router and network names and numbers are on the side of the router (i'm sure he/she will show you this (I was on hold for an hour for the Verizon helper was to tell me this (our tech forgot to tell us this during installation) what they neglected to tell us to was to call our security system to test the alarm to make sure no wires were crossed. Yesterday I had to wait for the ADT guy come in and re-fix the wires that Verizon didn't put in properly. We are still having a little difficultly in the upstairs television. it seems they forgot to give us the disk for the Tivo and the HD and the TV cuts off and that makes the wife pissed....would also install the Verizon in house agent on the computer it is soooooo helpful...good luck!!
also one tech left after 6 hours due to their OT policy.

Fortunately, we're already wired. Remember that whole fiasco about holes in my walls back in September? That was the contracting company Verizon hired out to do all the wiring. With any luck it won't take the full time. And it's just one tv and one router.

Oh, I am super super excited!!!!

Not so hot. But very personable.

I'm a little peeved at the office now, though. There's an air filter just dangling in the utility closet and I don't know if it's the old one that didn't get trashed or if back in September smarties partially knocked it off and I don't have an attached air filter. So I called the office to see if they could have someone come look. Which ever front desk bimbo I got was a major bitch. But she transferred me to the manager and he's going to put in an order to have it replaced, which at the very least gets someone out here. But she was such a bitch. URGH.

Dude said it should only take a couple hours since most of the wiring is done. I don't know... I guess we'll see. He's been here since a little before 1.
