I've got an interview this afternoon, and I'm trying to decide whether or not I should wear a tie. I honestly don't even remember the last time that I wore a tie to an interview... hell, I don't know if I've ever been hired for a job where I've worn a tie. I hate wearing ties more than almost anything else in the world and I'm not even sure where any of mine are at the moment to be honest. :24:

A lot of people say it's better to be over dressed than under dressed. At the same time over dressing can kill you in the tech world. I would just wear a dress shirt with an open collar.

That's kinda what I was thinking. It's what I did when I got hired at this job. My last job I got hired simply from phone interviews.

Well, I didn't know being over dressed could be bad in that field, I would have suggested a tie just to be safe but maybe it's not necessary.

Good luck, anyway!

I'd say wear one just to be safe, because the problem that could arise is the interviewer could see you as casually dressed rather than smart, regardless of how nice the shirt might be. Good luck though.

Gee, by the title, I thought this was a bondage thread.:p Oh, well, maybe it is after all.... a job, huh...yep, bondage, definitely. I don't think a tie would be overdressing....even a suit and tie...may be better to be slightly overdressed with a tie than underdressed. But, then, I'm fairly old school. I insisted my son give a 2 wk notice for his fastfood job.;)

IMO, wear a tie.

No jacket or anything. Just a button down shirt, a tie, and dress pants/shoes.

Don't under dress.

Just my $.02
