Because arse is the correct word in my language and no one says ass. Why do you Americans have Randy as a popular first name? Dont you realise how stupid that sounds? Randy is a word which means highly sexually arroused.

Interesting to note the cultural difference in which words are considered offensive. While arse is only a mild swear word over here it's considered more offensive than ass.
I suppose it's like the word wanker dosen't seem as offensive to the Americans though it's probably because most of you dont fully understand it or how to use it. I remember seeing it used on the Simpsons before and on TNA some of the British wrestlers used it for a few episodes before the tv company twigged on and bleeped it.
My favorite though was when I was in a pub in London and an American walked in and greeted the barman by calling him a wanker.:24: He probably thought he was fitting in by using the lingo but walking up to a stranger and calling them a wanker is liable to get your head kicked in!

yeah that doesnt get bleeped over here. I remember that TNA!! and we dont really say wanker. Ive never heard it before. Well before you joined the forum anyway. Not even really knowing what wanker means I could guess it compares to our term of calling someone a jack off or jerk off lol
