Home alone with Riley today, and there was a huge lightning and thunder. Scared me half to death.

Part of me was hoping Riley would comfort me today, you know, with the whole storm and then the possibility of losing power (Heaven forbid), but no... the dog is just as chicken as I am.

Peachy.

Dogs typically are NOT the best comfort animals with bad weather, it's actually hard for them because olfactory AND hearing is so sensitive, it's literally sensory overload, it's nothing personal..

Thunderstorms relax me, but nothing too severe.

That one... I saw the flash out of the corner of my eye, and it was still a visible bolt once I turned to look. And then the thunder rattled the windows for about 10-15 seconds. It was bad...

And we're under a tornado watch. I'm just trying to forget that though.

I'm in Wilson, NC and we're under a tornado emergency. Raleigh, which is about 45 minutes from me, was just hit with 3 large tornadoes, and large-sized hail, and 60mph winds. I'm just about scared right now. I live in a 100 year old farmhouse, in the middle of 300 acres of fields. There's nothing to block my house from the wind here! :willy_nilly:

I live very near the coast, we're not supposed to have tornadoes here that often!! Seems like every time we have a storm the last few months they are calling for tornadoes.
