I'm a pepper person, salt is rarely used when I cook. I do use Mrs. Dash which has awesome seasonings without salt. mmmmm
I notice you got the non iodized version of the salt..Unless you eat alot of fish you should be using the iodized version.
But anyway a fork will put 4 nice holes in the box to make it a shaker..Just barely pierce to begin with..the fork can be re inserted later for a little enlargement if need be
