peter made a great point,i made a thread about 7/7 and got a handful of condolance replies.....and as for 9/11,i wish those conspiracy touters would just go away, the towers were hit by power crazed muslim terrorists not the american government,CIA or FBI...what do these people think happened on flight 93.did 'the mask' take it over using american citizenship only to be over-ran by the tooth fairy and winnie the pooh?
I agree with you about the conspiracy theorists... They grow tiring.

For those that seem to have lost my point... I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with remembering the day. I'm taking issue with the total and complete obsession that America seems to have with it. We've had memorial programs on TV, articles in newspapers and the internet; people talking about it non stop on the radio, on sports programs --- absolutely everywhere for the last week.

Your country will never be able to put it on the back burner because the media won't let you forget. Neither will the few that continue to get richer by the moment because of the terrorism issue.

Like you I also think it was a tragedy but at the same time so is the number of people killed by guns, drunk drivers, domestic disputes etc on a daily basis and you hear squat about it. If you ( the American public ) knew those numbers would the same be done.

As one who lives in the burbs of Detroit this could not ring truer. There simply is not enough outrage when people are killed. Then some child gets gunned down and everybody comes out for a day or two talking about it. Me thinks we have turned into a society that does not treasure life enough. Lot of reasons for that. Not gonna bother as it should go into another thread
