that's great
but isn't his current job to be a senator from IL?
he needs to go do his job

this has been a contention of mine for a long time when candidates have other jobs like governor or senator or janitor or whatever.

make sure you still do the job you're getting paid to do while running.

i'm just sayin

Typically most normal duties for politicians are suspending when campaigning for President espeically when the election is a little over a month away at least that is my impression. It's not like it's an offical rule but it's the reality of winning an election. But I see it now, the Republican's will be saying "look, look, McCain is doing his job and Obama is out on the campaign trail goofing off." ;)

Maybe we should suspend the election? Wrong! The dead wood needs to be cleared. :)

agreed - i don't want any election suspended no matter what Mr. Bush tries to do.
i think we know enough about the two yahoos running that they could stop campaigning and go do their dang day jobs.

The Chancellor says the debate is still on.

Our school newspaper site is thedmonline.com

There were a lot of articles in the paper today about it.

I can watch it on tv, that's as close to the debate as I'll get.

The news channel just showed Khayat saying there will be something at 8 tomorrow, hopefully the debate. If McCain is a no show, it will be a Q & A between students and Obama.

Y'all would not believe the security on this campus. The Ford Center, where they're doing it (which is beautiful, btw), has had 24 hour security for over a week already. The closed down the street I live on that goes through campus. There are media tents every where that look like little compounds. It's unreal.

Myfoxmemphis.com is doing live streams through out the day from campus.

Yeah, it's Fox. I know...

McCain is being made fun of because he's trying to skip out on the debate because he wants to fly into Washington like a white knight to save the day? PLEASE give me a break. You've got 100 Senators and oodles of Congressmen who are all ready hacking out a compromise. McCain is just another Senator who said a couple of days ago he had not even read the proposed bailout. And this guy has to cancel his campaign to go to Washington to do what exactly? Presidents are supposed to be multi-taskers. Plus I heard if he skips on the debate, the Univ of Mississippi who spent $5 million dollars getting ready for this debate is gonna be PISSED! :)

Both he and Obama discussed going to DC;)

McCain was just the first to say it publicly, and of course the organizer of the debate said they are going forward, they won't lose anything by postponing....

You think nobody will show up to the re-scheduled event? If you ask me, Obama was trying to punk McCain out with all the "I refused to postpone the debate"

Every fucking person with a vote should be in DC now trying to hammer this deal out, fuck the campaign, don't you think stabilizing the economy RIGHT NOW is more important than Obama saying

"Oh yeah.....Well......Well my daddy is bigger than his...and I said that first...So neener neener neener"

And how about Biden the other day:eek

The wrong president.....and on a television that didn't exist:24:

I thought someone said something about economics experience being important, and that McCain had none:willy_nilly:
