Things Happen, What The Hell?

It's a bold and interesting religious theory which makes more sense to me than a god who is either good through worldwide genocide or one that sexually abuses children. It stops a lot of worry and seems the most likely. What are your thoughts on this radical belief?

There are many possibilities.
1) A God who exists, but does not micromanage events in our lives, ie things happen.
2) A God who makes every little thing happen for some reason beyond us.
3) No God, or an absentee God: total cause and effect and random for events.

Is one any better than the other? I don't know but really doubt No.2.

They way I see it, religion, heaven and hell is an invention which serves 2 purposes
1 - control people through fear
2 - keep weak minded people who cant cope with the thought of dying being the end sedated

I think you got that right

I got no clue how the universe got started though. I have to wonder if the size and scope of it is so far beyond our comprehension that nobody will every truly know before earth dies
