Would you take it?

I don't know how to do a poll....but would you take it in a drugstore?

They are making it so you can take a card that asks for it, customers don't have to verbalize it so others can hear. And I guess it's in a private room....a pee test. Takes 20 minutes and if the results are positive they refer you to your doc, of course.

Would you want to take this randomly?

I don't think I'd want to know this way...........

If I was concerned I would consider it. I just had one done as part of applying for an insurance policy. Since I have had only one sexual partner for the last 31 years I do not believe I have anything to worry about.

I thought AIDS was one you needed a blood test for.

Dam they got it good. Never need a jimmy hat or nothing. Eat all the fast food they want. Sleep wierd times. I see why the kids now a days want to be vampires.

ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND--On August 6, 1996, the Food and Drug Administration approved the first HIV test that uses urine samples. All previously approved HIV tests use either blood or oral fluid samples.

The new urine-based test detects the presence of antibodies to HIV-1, the virus that causes the vast majority of U.S. AIDS cases, using an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

The test is approved to screen for HIV-1 infection and may be useful for medical purposes when the collection of blood samples is impractical.

Yeah I always assumed that too. But I guess you learn something new everyday.

Would I do one in a drugstore? Hmmm I think I'd prefer to go to a GUM clinic and get tests for various STIs in one go.

I didn't know you could be tested using urine, either. I think I'd be more comfortable w/ a blood test.

It's very common on college campuses to use "free HIV testing" as marketing for a blood drive. That always floored me, though, b/c one of the biggest things listed on the website about giving blood is that it's not to be used as a means of being tested for HIV.

Having said that...if I need to be tested for STDs, I'll leave it up to my gyno.

If I didn't have a regular doctor I'd probably do it.
That being said I've just had myself tested for everything under the sun, all in one place, so I don't need any Walgreen's testing.

The docs and hospitals have already gotten 47 vials of blood since January and sent me notice today for the next ones. They have analyzed so much of my blood in the last 5 years I don't have anything to worry about. Neither does my hand!:tooth
