The World Cup Thread

Shame he left out Parker, got to wonder what he put him in the squad for in the first place when he was just going to drop him because of lack of experience anyway.
Cant believe he kept Carragher, the guy is slow and well past it, he'd have trouble cutting it in the Championship these days.

I like Carra, he's a decent player. His form was poor at the beginning of the season, but he picked it up afterwards - and Liverpool's defensive record shows that.

A lot of the stick he gets, is for being honest about how he feels about playing for England in comparison to his club team.
I reckon if more players were that honest, they'd say the same.

Do you really think all the other players at top teams value the very slim chance to win a World Cup every 4 years over the much more realistic chance of winning a number of Champions League, Premiership and Cup medals every year?

I think Carragher is there for his versatility, so really Walcott who has no playing experience in World Cups or Carragher who's been there, albeit as a sub.

even the US press admits they are not as good as they were ten years ago

Plus you have West Ham defender Jonathan Spector playing for you. If he is as shit for you as he was for us this season, count on him being directly responsible for silly mistakes that lead to you conceding goals.
Would still see you qualifying for the second round in 2nd place in the group, though.
