Typical England thus far, looking good on the break while looking a little bit shaky at the back. Been more good than bad though, encouraging.

Bugger! I lost over 20,000 points on another site with an ALL OR NOTHING bet on England to win! I worked hard on getting that much without using the forums on-site bank system or anything!

I think England were the better team but the same old problems have surfaced.

1. Gerrard and Lampard CANNOT play together. There is no conceivable reason anyone should think this way and it's been proven again tonight, it's because they are too similar. It should be Barry and Gerrard, or Carrick and Gerrard (I would tend to go with the former) because there is a better balance. Don't move Gerrard to the left, it's a waste of him. Lampard is a good player, no question, but he's too similar to Gerrard and at this level that should never happen.

2. England need an established goalkeeper. Seaman was there for years and years and did a good job but since then it's been very much chop and change between keepers like Green, James, Hart, Foster, Carson etc, and at this level it needs to be a lot better.

3. He brings off Milner, fair enough the guy's on a yellow and at risk of a red. Good management.

But he brings on SWP, on the left, when he's a right winger. There's Joe Cole on the bench there who is comfortable on the left and has played well there, he should have come on.

Green also baled Carragher in the second half. It was Jozey Altidore tonight, but it could have been Lionel Messi, it could have been Bastian Scwensteiger, it could have been....well you get the point.
